Die am zentralen Träger des Glasdaches befestigte Edelstahlbox entlässt innerhalb eines Jahres 2400 einzeln von Hand nummerierte Ahornsamen, die langsam zu Boden rotieren. Der zeitliche Abstand ist zufallsgesteuert, unabhängig davon, ob es Tag ist oder Nacht. 20 motorgetriebene und von Solarzellen gespeiste Spindeln transportieren die Propeller in numerischer Reihenfolge zur Austrittsöffnung. Die Box wird bis zum Jahr 2041 jährlich im März durch den Künstler neu bestückt. Nach 20 Jahren werden 48.000 Ahornsamen durch das Foyer geflogen sein. Dieses in der Natur alltägliche Schauspiel wird hier zu einem kleinen Ereignis, das mit etwas Glück zu beobachten ist. Photo: Frank Pichler

In the course of a year the stainless steel box attached to the central beam of the glass roof releases 2,400 individually numbered maple tree seeds, which slowly spin as they float to the ground. The time interval is randomly controlled, regardless of whether it is day or night. Twenty motor-driven spindles powered by solar cells transport the propellers in numerical order to the outlet opening. The box will be refilled by the artist in March of each year until 2041. After 20 years, 48,000 maple tree seeds will have floated through the foyer. Here, this spectacle commonly seen in nature, turns into a small happening that, with a little luck, can be watched.
